WHO Issues Global Alert After Deadly Hantavirus Outbreak Linked to Cruise Ship

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, holding an emergency press conference in Geneva, has issued a strict order to countries worldwide for the immediate monitoring and quarantine of all passengers who were on board the "MV Hondius" cruise ship. This alert came to light when a Dutch crew member of the ship was confirmed with the deadly "Hanta Virus" (Andes Strain), after which the total number of affected individuals has reached 12, while 3 people have already lost their lives. This dangerous virus spread through rats on this cruise ship starting from Argentina, and now more than 600 people present in 30 countries are being monitored under the severe risk of this virus spreading.

If we look at medical history, the world has been facing such horrific pandemics every few years; like the SARS virus causing destruction in the year 2003, then the Ebola pandemic shaking Africa in 2014, and recently the Coronavirus (COVID-19) appearing in the year 2019 which paralyzed the system of the entire world. According to medical experts, the current Hanta virus is more concerning because, contrary to common viruses, it has the capability of transferring from human to human, due to which, if timely steps are not taken, it can push the world towards another worst global lockdown like Corona.
