New Chapter of Israeli Brutality in Lebanon

Despite the recently signed peace agreement between Iran and the United States, Israel has continued its savage operations in Lebanon. Just hours after the agreement was announced, the Israeli air force launched intense airstrikes in various areas of southern Lebanon, targeting civilian populations. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 47 people have been martyred and 97 injured in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours[reference:20][reference:21], including women and children. Since March, over 4,057 people have been martyred and more than 12,121 injured in this aggression[reference:22].

Destruction of Qasmiyeh Bridge and the Tragedy of Displacement

Israeli forces also destroyed the strategic Qasmiyeh Bridge connecting the southern Lebanese cities of Tyre and Sidon[reference:23]. This bridge was the only route for thousands of displaced families to head north[reference:24]. After the bridge's destruction, hundreds of families loaded their belongings into vehicles and fled toward Beirut in a state of fear. Women clutched their children to their chests, crying, while the elderly shed tears as they looked at their homes for the last time. There was a scene where a mother was running on foot with her two young children because their car had been destroyed in the bombing.

Massacre in Nabatiyeh and Tyre

The Nabatiyeh district was the epicenter of Israeli attacks, where residential areas were heavily targeted. According to Lebanese Civil Defense, at least 16 people were martyred and 12 injured in Nabatiyeh[reference:25]. According to MSF, on June 19 alone, 25 martyrs and 37 wounded were brought to Najdeh Al-Shaabiyeh Hospital[reference:26]. MSF has described the situation in Nabatiyeh as a "death trap"[reference:27]. MSF says people are arriving with severe head injuries, heavy bleeding, and shrapnel wounds, requiring amputations[reference:28].

In Tyre, an Israeli attack near Jabal Amel Hospital martyred four people and injured 127, including 39 hospital staff members. MSF strongly condemned the attack, stating that the hospital's emergency ward, radiology department, and ICU suffered severe damage.

Complete Destruction of Civilian Areas

Shia-majority villages in southern Lebanon have been completely destroyed[reference:29]. Human rights organizations say this is the deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure, which constitutes a possible war crime. Amnesty International accused Israel of committing the war crime of unlawful transfer by preventing displaced people from returning[reference:30].

Targeting Hospitals and Medical Personnel

Israeli forces also targeted medical centers. Bombings were carried out near two hospitals in the Nabatiyeh area, while an attack near Hiram Hospital in Tyre injured 10 staff members[reference:31]. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, 128 paramedics and medical staff have been martyred in 159 attacks over the past three months.

The Growing Displacement Crisis

Over one million people have been displaced due to Israeli attacks[reference:32][reference:33]. In Beirut, people are living in tents set up at football stadiums and along the seashore, where surviving the intense daytime sun and cold nights is extremely difficult. According to the UN, 200,000 people have been displaced from Beirut's southern suburbs alone[reference:34]. According to Amnesty International, Israel has expanded its mass displacement orders in Lebanon in 2026, with the no-return zone reaching 6% of Lebanon's total area[reference:35]. Young children are forced to flee, leaving their bicycles and toys behind in the rubble. A young man told Hamid Mir that we have no trust in Israel nor in America; we hope for help from countries like Pakistan.

Israel's Double Face

Despite Lebanon being mentioned in the Iran-US agreement, Israel is violating it. Article 1 of the agreement explicitly states that ending the war in Lebanon is an integral part of the broader ceasefire arrangement[reference:36]. Despite this, Israel has carried out approximately 3,500 airstrikes on Lebanon since April 16[reference:37]. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that Israeli forces would continue operating against Hezbollah[reference:38]. Israel's Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir even said that "all of Lebanon must burn"[reference:39].

Hamid Mir's Live Reporting

Renowned Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir conducted live reporting from Lebanon today, surveying the destroyed areas. During the reporting, Israeli drones continuously hovered overhead. He showed how civilians were heading toward Beirut in their vehicles, with fear and panic along the way. The hills in front of the bridge had also been heavily bombed, leaving large craters.

The Painful Testimony of the Lebanese People

Hamid Mir spoke with a young man who said that we have no trust in Israel nor in America; we hope for help from countries like Pakistan. Another person said that Israel does not care about any agreement; it only knows how to massacre.

The Silence of the International Community

While innocent children in Lebanon are fleeing leaving their bicycles and toys behind in the rubble, while hospitals are being bombed, while entire families are being wiped out in a single attack, the international community remains silent. Is this the same international community that preaches human rights? Is this the same United Nations whose charter was created to prevent wars? Is this the same countries that do everything to save their own children, but ignore the blood of Lebanese children? This silence in the name of human conscience is itself a crime.

Conclusion

Israel's current face is that of a brutal, ruthless, and murderous state that does not hesitate to target innocent children, women, and civilians. Despite the Iran-US agreement, Israel continues its barbarism, and the international community is taking no action. Everyone who possesses a human conscience must recognize Israel's savage face and express solidarity with the oppressed people of Lebanon. Displaced families, destroyed homes, bicycles and toys buried under rubble — all of this reflects Israel's true face.
