From Lebanon to the Strait of Hormuz: A World Burning in 100 Days of War
Special Report by Pakistan Times Live
Islamabad: June 08, 2026
When the American president claimed that the operation against Iran would end within a few weeks, perhaps even he did not know that this fire would not be extinguished after a hundred days. Today marks 100 full days of this war, and every passing day writes a new tragedy. Thousands of bodies, millions displaced, and a world standing at the edge of economic collapse.
This report is the story of those hundred days — a story that no ordinary eye can see.
**💔 A Land Soaked in Blood: Human Lives Have Become Worthless**
In one hundred days, more than seven thousand innocent souls have departed. Over three thousand five hundred funerals have been held in the streets of Lebanon, while the land of Iran has embraced three thousand four hundred bodies. In the Gulf states, at least twenty-nine people have been caught in this inferno. On the other side, Iranian retaliatory strikes have killed twenty-six Israeli and thirteen American soldiers.
**🏚️ Empty Homes, Homeless People**
The greatest cruelty of war is displacement. More than one million people in Lebanon have been driven from their homes onto the streets. In Iran, that number has exceeded three million. According to the United Nations, thirty-two million people are internally displaced in Iran.
The streets of Tehran are deserted. People flee from the fear of bombings, leaving everything behind. The thirty-eight million Afghan refugees already living in Iran are facing an absolute catastrophe. Twenty thousand people are now living in tents along the borders of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
**⛽ The Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz: A Global Economic Upheaval**
The Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of the world's oil once flowed, now barely moves. Before the war, an average of one hundred ships passed daily; now only seven. This blockade has sent global oil prices skyrocketing. Brent crude has jumped from seventy dollars to one hundred and twenty dollars per barrel, and currently hovers around one hundred dollars.
As a result, fuel prices have risen in one hundred and forty-six countries. Inflation has soared ninety percent in Myanmar, fifty percent in Nigeria, and forty percent in Peru. The World Food Programme has warned that rising fuel costs are pushing millions toward starvation.
**💰 Treasuries Are Burning: Billions of Dollars Turned to Ash**
This war is costing the United States approximately two billion dollars per day. If this continues, long-term costs could exceed one trillion dollars. In Iran, twenty-seven power plants, nineteen oil refineries, and fourteen petrochemical plants have been destroyed. Seventy-eight percent of the country is without electricity or water. Inflation in Iran has reached two hundred eighty percent. Israel has suffered thirty-eight billion dollars in economic losses, and its tourism industry has been completely paralyzed.
**🤝 Pakistan’s Efforts: The Last Ray of Mediation**
Since the first day of the war, Pakistan has played the role of mediator. On April 8, it brokered a two-week ceasefire. On April 11 and 12, it hosted talks in Islamabad, but negotiations stalled over the nuclear program. Trump rejected Iran’s counterproposal. Then Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi traveled to Tehran with new proposals, but no breakthrough has been achieved yet.
Iran has suspended indirect talks with the United States in protest against Israeli attacks. Experts say that because of Trump’s unprofessional approach, a lasting agreement seems difficult.
**⚔️ Lebanon: The Front Where Blood Flows Every Day**
Southern Lebanon has become an open battlefield. Israeli forces have crossed the Litani River and advanced toward the city of Nabatieh. The historic Beaufort Castle has been recaptured — a move the Israeli prime minister called a "dramatic shift in policy." A few days ago, an attack on a military vehicle on the Khardali-Nabatieh road martyred Brigadier General Wassam Sabra and nine other soldiers.
Hezbollah has retaliated by targeting Israeli positions with rockets and drones. In a single day, twenty-two attacks were carried out, wounding four Israeli soldiers.
**🏛️ Storm in Washington: Congress Ties Trump’s Hands**
The US House of Representatives has made a historic decision to limit Trump’s war powers. The resolution passed by 215 votes to 208, with four Republicans breaking ranks and joining the Democrats. This is the first time Congress has delivered such a strong rebuke to Trump’s war policies.
**🚁 The Blast That Shook Europe: Fear at Romania’s Port**
An explosion of a naval drone at Romania’s port of Constanta has rattled NATO. Ukraine admitted that it was their drone, which strayed due to Russian electronic interference. Fortunately, Romanian authorities evacuated the area ten to fifteen minutes before the blast — otherwise a major disaster could have occurred.
This incident proves that this war has now escaped its original boundaries and become a threat to the entire world.
**🇵🇰 Pakistan: The Last Ray of Hope**
The arrival of Lebanon’s army chief in Pakistan shows that the world is now looking toward Pakistan. The head of the European Union has also praised Pakistan’s mediation. Can Pakistan extinguish this fire? That is the question the whole world is asking today.
Pakistan Times Live is keeping a close watch on the situation. Stay tuned for further analysis and breaking news in the coming days.
