Board of Peace Reaches Hamas Disarmament Deal: Trump

Board of Peace Reaches Deal on Hamas Disarmament, Israeli Withdrawal From Gaza: Trump

The Pakistan Times — Islamabad, July 31, 2026

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that his Board of Peace has reached what he called a "historic" agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas, under which Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza as the process is completed. "Israel will have the security it deserves, with Gaza no longer used as a base for terror attacks," Trump wrote on Truth Social, according to Al Jazeera, which said it had obtained a copy of the agreement.

According to the document, a full disarmament roadmap must be prepared within 14 days, with an International Stabilization Force and a new Palestinian police force eventually assuming security responsibilities as Israeli troops withdraw. Hamas negotiator Ghazi Hamad told Al Jazeera the group would not begin disarming until Israel withdraws from Gaza, a sequencing that appears to differ from Trump's description of a phased process, according to Axios. Israel had not issued an official response at the time of publication.

According to CNN, US and Board of Peace officials described the deal as the product of months of "very delicate negotiations," while cautioning it remains a "conditions-based" agreement whose full timeline is still being finalised. Trump thanked mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for helping broker the agreement.
