Trump Says Iran's Military Capability Destroyed, Warns of Harder Strikes
Trump Says He's Destroyed Iran's Military Capability, Vows Even Harder Strikes Ahead
The Pakistan Times — Islamabad, July 31, 2026
Trump is back to talking tough on Iran. He told reporters this week that Tehran has almost nothing left militarily after months of American bombing, and that the next wave of US strikes is going to hit even harder than before. According to CNN, he basically said Iran knows what's coming and it's America's turn to hit back.
This came right after Iran tried to launch a missile attack on US forces in the region, which CENTCOM says was fully intercepted. The US responded with what it called a heavy wave of strikes on dozens of IRGC targets, including missile sites, coastal defense positions, and command centers, according to a CENTCOM statement.
But here's the pattern people are starting to notice. This isn't the first time Trump has said Iran is basically finished. About two weeks ago he said almost the exact same thing, that Iran had lost nearly everything militarily and had very little capability left. Then just a day or two later, Iranian attacks killed three American troops in Jordan and Iraq, the first US combat deaths of the whole war.
PolitiFact actually fact-checked an earlier version of this same claim, where Trump said the US had wiped out all of Iran's military capability, and rated it false, pointing out that Iran kept firing missiles and drones at American and allied targets well after that statement was made.
Military analysts following the war say the gap between what Trump says and what's actually happening on the ground keeps showing up. Iran clearly has less capability than before the war started, nobody disputes that. But less capability and zero capability are two very different things, and Iran proving it can still strike and still kill American troops keeps undercutting the president's bigger claims.
For now, Trump's message is pretty clear either way: more strikes are coming, and he's putting the blame squarely on Iran for testing US patience again.
