US Offers Up to $10 Million for Information on Five Senior IRGC Commanders

Washington's Rewards for Justice programme is once again putting a price tag on Iran's military leadership, this time offering up to $10 million for information on five senior commanders within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that the US says have directed both armed attacks on American personnel and damaging cyber operations against critical infrastructure.

The five men named in this latest push are Ahmad Vahidi, identified as commander of the IRGC, Ali Abdollahi, who heads the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Saeed Aghajani, commander of the drone unit within the IRGC's aerospace force, Hamidreza Lashgarian, who leads the IRGC's Cyber-Electronic Command, and Majid Khademi, commander of the IRGC's intelligence office. According to the State Department, these officials command IRGC units responsible for coordinating armed strikes that have targeted American personnel, along with disruptive cyber operations aimed at critical infrastructure. The Rewards for Justice programme posted the appeal on X, calling on the public to send in tips on these individuals in exchange for potential rewards and relocation assistance.

Vahidi in particular has become a much more prominent figure inside Iran's leadership over recent months, reportedly playing a key role in Tehran's decision to launch missile strikes against Israel and taking a notably hardline position throughout negotiations with Washington. Lashgarian's inclusion isn't new territory for US authorities either. He and members of his cyber command were already named earlier this year in connection with the IOCONTROL malware campaign, which compromised industrial control systems and SCADA devices across routers, programmable logic controllers, and IP cameras tied to critical infrastructure worldwide.

This reward offer is part of a much longer pattern rather than an isolated move. The Rewards for Justice programme has repeatedly gone after Iran's senior IRGC leadership throughout this war, having previously offered similar bounties for Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and other top officials back in March, and for a separate group of cyber operatives tied to the same Cyber-Electronic Command months before that. The recurring use of these bounty campaigns reflects how central both military strikes and offensive cyber operations have become to how Washington frames the IRGC's role in this conflict, treating financial intelligence-gathering as one more active front alongside the missiles and diplomacy playing out elsewhere in the war.
