Bolan Gas Pipeline Blast Disrupts Supply in Balochistan

18-Inch Gas Pipeline Destroyed in Blast in Bolan

The Pakistan Times | Islamabad Times

An 18-inch-diameter gas pipeline was destroyed by explosive material in the Bolan area of Balochistan on Wednesday, August 12, causing disruption to gas supplies in several parts of the province.

According to gas authorities, the blast damaged the major pipeline and affected the supply of gas to several areas, including Kolpur, Machh, Mastung, Kalat, Pishin and Ziarat.

Gas Supply Suspended in Several Areas

Following the damage to the pipeline, gas supplies to the affected areas were suspended. Residents and businesses in these locations may face difficulties until the damaged section is repaired and the supply network is restored.

Authorities said that gas pressure could also decrease in some parts of Quetta following the incident.

Repair Work Underway

Gas authorities said that efforts were underway to restore the supply as soon as possible. Repair teams will need to assess the damaged section before completing the necessary restoration work.

The timing of the restoration will depend on the extent of damage and the safety conditions at the site.

Investigation Into the Blast

The pipeline was reportedly destroyed using explosive material. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident and determine how the pipeline was damaged.

At this stage, responsibility for the blast should not be attributed to any individual or group without confirmed information from the relevant authorities.

Impact on Balochistan

Gas pipelines are an important part of Balochistan’s energy infrastructure, supplying fuel to homes, businesses and other consumers.

Damage to a major pipeline can affect several areas at the same time. The latest incident has therefore raised concerns among residents who depend on regular gas supplies.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to repair the damaged pipeline and restore normal gas services.

Conclusion

The destruction of the 18-inch gas pipeline in Bolan has disrupted gas supplies to several areas of Balochistan and may also affect gas pressure in parts of Quetta.

Repair work is underway, while authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the blast. Further updates are likely as the damaged pipeline is assessed and gas supplies are gradually restored.
