Nepal-Tibet Flood Video Shows Wall of Mud, Water
A massive flash flood has struck the Nepal-Tibet border, and viral video footage of the disaster shows the terrifying scale of the destruction. The flood, triggered by an ice-rock avalanche that broke off a glacier, sent a wall of mud and water crashing through villages, roads, and the Gyirong border crossing within seconds.
Footage released by China's state broadcaster CGTN shows the aftermath at Gyirong port, where roads and buildings were buried under debris, while videos from the Nepali side show entire settlements swept away along the Bhotekoshi River.
The death toll in Nepal has crossed 150, with hundreds more still missing on both sides of the border. Rescue teams are working through thick mud and damaged roads to reach survivors, as both governments race to assess the full scale of the disaster.
